thoughtless acts?

thoughtless acts? observations on intuitive design
by Jane Fulton Suri + IDEO

I've known this book since it published, however, I met it again at library.
And, its idea remained me of approaching new dimension.
Actually, I think that there are many (baby) ideas around you/our life/the world.
If we just catch our life up by different dimension/approach, perhaps we would find new idea.
Of course, this idea is only an idea like a baby.
The baby need the help by someone.
So, the ideas are also same.
The ideas have to be developed by something.
In this time, something may demand a skill to be specific form.
Anyway, I'd like to keep some sentences for my memo.

They list some key words as
  • reacting? : we interact automatically with objects and spaces that we encounter
  • responding? : some qualities and features prompt us to behave in particular ways
  • co-opting? : we make use of opportunities present in our immediate surroundings
  • exploiting? : we take advantage of physical and mechanical qualities we understand
  • adapting? : we alter the purpose or context of things to meet our objectives
  • conforming? : we learn patterns of behavior from others in our social and cultural group
  • signaling? : we convey messages and prompts to ourselves and other people
Also, there is good images as expanding its possibility on the Flickr: IDEO's Thoughtless Acts

The Best Inventions Of The Year: 2007 by Time

The Best Invention Of The Year:2007 by Time
Time listed some inventions at each category this year.
After all, they chose The iPhone as the best invention.

I think The iPhone is a brilliant device or platform.
Of course, they still need to develop it to be more stylish and variation.
In addition, the iPhone have influenced other mobiles and fields.

Anyway, I'm also interested in other inventions:
-Aircraft: Boing787 Dreamliner
-Computers: Flexible screens by LG.Philips and Sony
And, their lists are absorbing for me.

The 1000 London's Most Influential People 2007

The 1000 London's Most Influential People 2007 by Evening Standard
I pick some young people up.
New Media
-Mark Zuckerberg, 23: FACEBOOK FOUNDER
Retail
-Omar Fayed, 20: HARRODS, DIRECTOR
They are so young, but especially in the Internet's world it doesn't matter its age.
I think the teenage person will appear, too.
In fact, last week NYTimes reported its potentiality through Student’s Ad Gets a Remake, and Makes the Big Time.
In the article, Apple and TBWA/Chiat/Day contacted Nick Haley, an 18 year old from England, and they bought his commercial film for iPod Touch.
Nick's version
Apple's version
Also, Lee Clow said consumers creating commercials “is part of this brave new world we live in,” (from NYTimes:Student’s Ad Gets a Remake, and Makes the Big Time)
It leaves an indelible impression for me.
